TV Journalist Terryanne Chebet Starts Lucrative Skincare Business From Her Car Boot

TV Journalist Terryanne Chebet started her skincare business Keyara Botanicals as a solution for her daughter who was diagnosed with eczema. Chebet, a household name in business journalism, revealed in an interview with the Public Relations Society of Kenya(PRSK) that she began running the business from the boot of her car. She set out to find skin products to help cure her daughter’s condition, but could not find organic products in the Kenyan market. ‘I started Keyara Botanics from the boot of my car, saying that there may be other mothers who want the same products and the same solution for their children,’ Terryanne stated. Today, the business is thriving and has recently won an award. Chebet owes her success to staying consistent and networking. She advises women looking to start businesses not to give up and to fall in love with their idea repeatedly. Chebet joined CNBC Africa in January 2023, where she is the East African Correspondent and the Kenyan Business Development Lead. In a recent interview, Chebet stated that she is hoping to get Kenyans to watch the content created at CNBC over the next few years, so that she can be promoted to a big role within the region.”
