First Daughter and ally launch new Ruto Movement to tackle climate change

Brenda Majune, former KANU Women Congress Treasurer, announced on March 15, that she will launch “Daughters of His Excellency William Ruto” alongside First Daughter, Charlene Ruto. The movement seeks to work with disadvantaged women in arid and semi-arid areas to address climate change. Speaking to the press, Majune affirmed that their roles would involve providing sanitary towels, foodstuff, pitching medical camps, and working with doctors from America and Israel. The initiative is set to attract support from friends in the international community. Charlene is equally renowned for championing climate change action, and recently, she joined Winnie Odinga, Raila Odinga’s daughter, to address issues affecting women across different generations. The First Daughter offers herself as a champion of millions of young people to help them reach their full potential, with a focus on menstrual hygiene, anti-FGM advocacy, and opportunities for youth in agribusiness and education.
